NEFERITI LIFT FAQ'S
WHAT IS A NEFERITI LIFT?
A NEFERITI LIFT, otherwise known as a Nefertiti neck lift, is a treatment that uses botox injections to reduce the appearance of platysmal bands (neck cords) and tighten a lax jawline.
WHO IS SUITABLE FOR A NEFERITI LIFT?
If you are late middle-aged, and have noticed the prominence of neck cords (platysmas bands) and / or a lax, saggy jawline, a NEFERITI LIFT may be suitable for you.
An ideal candidate is:
- Normal weight, or underweight
- No excessive fat on the jawline
- Loose, folding skin on the chin and / or jawline
- Visible neck bands, also known as a 'turkey neck'
If you have severe skin sagging / jowls, a more suitable treatment for you may be PDO THREADS
HOW DOES A NEFERITI LIFT WORK?
Neuromodulators (aka, 'botox') are injected strategically into the neck muscles to relax them, and therefore improving the appearance of the lower jawline and neck. The result: reduction of visible neck cords, and a smoother, more slender, more defined, youthful looking neck and jawline.
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
A NEFERITI LIFT typically starts to work within 3 - 10 days, with full results at 2 weeks.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF A NEFERITI LIFT LAST?
The smoothing effects of botox typically last between 3-4 months.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Around 30 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
A NEFERITI LIFT involves tiny needles, and is typically not at all painful.
ARE THE RESULTS INSTANT?
No. Results can be seen within 3-10 days, with full effects seen at 14 days.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
- Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment
- Do not take Ibuprofen for 24 hours before your appointment
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
Nothing too exciting! The treated areas may be slightly red and / or 'bumpy' for around an hour following injection.
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
A NEFERITI LIFT is very safe when injected by experienced medical professionals. The main risks are associated with the injections - pinprick redness and pinprick bleeding (both of which resolve very quickly),and possible small transitory bumps . There is a small risk of pinprick bruising. Your medical practitioner will further discuss all risks and side effects.
ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR A NEFERITI LIFT?
You cannot have a NEFERITI LIFT if:
You are pregnant
You are breastfeeding
You are taking certain antibiotics
You have any chronic muscle or nerve conditions, such as Eaton Lambert syndrome, myasthenia gravis, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
You have any sensitivity to any of the product excipients - human albumin or lactose monohydrate
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
A NEFERITI LIFT uses botulinum toxin, which is prescription only. Therefore, if this is your first visit to us you MUST have a consultation at least a day before your treatment to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.
