Tretinoin is a retinoid prescribed for the treatment of acne vulgaris and is only available through a doctor's prescription. All Obagi tretinoin products are free of fragrances.
The chemical tretinoin, also known as synthetic first-generation all-trans-retinoic acid, was introduced to dermatology in the 1960s. It is prescribed for acne treatment and, in certain FDA-approved formulations (not including our products), can also be used to manage fine facial wrinkles as part of a complete skincare and sun avoidance program.
 
INGREDIENTS
The product contains micronized tretinoin within an aqueous gel, which includes purified water, glycerin, and soluble collagen. The soluble collagen component features methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben, phenoxyethanol, fish collagen, and water.
Each gram of this translucent to opaque, pale yellow gel contains 0.05% tretinoin by weight. The formula also incorporates benzyl alcohol, butylparaben, butylated hydroxytoluene, carbomer homopolymer Type C, ethylparaben, fish collagen hydrolyzates, glycerin, isobutylparaben, methylparaben, octoxynol-9, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, purified water, sodium hyaluronate, and trolamine.
