SAXENDA CONSULTATION

About this treatment

This appointment is for a face to face consultation for Saxenda. During this appointment, you will be assessed as to whether Saxenda is appropriate for you. Your height, weight, and abdomen circumference will all be measured. We will go through your medical history. If you are suitable and wish to agree with the weight loss programme, we will prescribe you your medications and issue you with a 12 week diet and exercise plan. Note: We highly advise that prior to booking this appointment, you check your BMI using the NHS BMI calculator. You will only be potentially suitable for Saxenda if you have a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 27 with associated weight-related co-morbidities, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and / or obstructive sleep apnoea. Whilst we do calculate this for you in clinic, booking an appointment without first knowing your BMI may lead to disappointment as you may not be suitable. We charge a fee for this consultation, whether or not at the end of it you are suitable for the treatment.
