WHAT IS A NEFERTITI NECK LIFT?
ANTI AGING, NON SURGICAL NECK LIFT

THE NEFERTITI LIFT - A YOUTHFUL YOU
The Nefertiti Lift is one of the most sought-after advanced Botox treatments of 2025 — a precision injectable technique that redefines the jawline, tightens the neck and lifts the lower face without surgery, scarring or downtime. Named after the ancient Egyptian queen renowned for her sculpted jawline and elegant elongated neck, this treatment addresses exactly what a standard anti-wrinkle treatment cannot — the lower face and neck.
At Sebastian Rose Medical Aesthetics, Cardiff, the Nefertiti Lift is performed by experienced medical professionals with an advanced understanding of lower face anatomy, muscle structure and the precise injection technique required to achieve a natural, lifted result.

HOW DOES A NEFERTITI NECK LIFT WORK?
As we age, the platysma muscle — a thin, sheet-like muscle running from the collarbone up the sides of the neck to the jawline — begins to pull downward on the lower face. This causes visible vertical neck bands, jowling, jawline laxity and loss of definition. The Nefertiti Lift uses strategically placed Botox injections along the jawline and into the platysmal bands to relax this downward pull. The result is a visible lift and reshaping of the lower face and neck — without adding volume or altering your natural expressions.
WHAT DOES A NEFERTITI NECK LIFT TREAT?
WHAT THE NEFERTITI LIFT TREATS
The Nefertiti Lift is a muscle-relaxing treatment. It works by releasing the downward pull of the platysma muscle and is highly effective for visible platysmal bands and neck cords, sagging or undefined jawline caused by muscle laxity, early jowls where the underlying muscle is the primary cause, horizontal neck lines and tech neck, chin dimpling, downturned corners of the mouth, and loss of lower face definition and contour related to muscle activity.
What it won't do — and why this matters
The Nefertiti Lift works at the muscle layer. The neck has multiple layers of anatomy — muscle, fat, and skin — and in moderate to advanced neck ageing, all of these layers contribute to what you see in the mirror. A Nefertiti Lift alone will not significantly improve skin laxity, crepey or loose skin texture, or volume loss. If jowling is primarily caused by descending fat pads rather than muscle pull, the Nefertiti Lift may offer some improvement by addressing the underlying muscle, but it will not fully resolve the appearance of jowls on its own.
This is not a limitation — it's simply anatomy. Understanding which layer is driving your concern is what separates a good result from a great one.
Getting the most from your treatment
For clients with skin laxity, crepey texture or volume-related concerns alongside muscle laxity, combining the Nefertiti Lift with collagen-stimulating treatments such as Profhilo, Sculptra or polynucleotides, or with Micro-Tox for skin texture can significantly enhance and extend your results. Where jowling is driven by fat pad descent, treatments such as dermal filler or Sculptra to restore structure and camouflage volume loss can work beautifully alongside the Nefertiti Lift.
Your practitioner will assess all contributing factors at consultation and discuss a realistic, layered treatment plan tailored to your anatomy — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

NEFERTITI FAQ'S
NEFERTITI LIFT — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a Nefertiti Lift? A Nefertiti Lift is a specialised Botox technique using precisely placed injections along the lower jawline and into the vertical platysmal bands of the neck to lift and redefine the jaw and neck without surgery. It works by relaxing the downward pull of the platysma muscle, allowing the upper facial muscles to lift the lower face naturally — creating a sharper jawline, smoother neck and more elegant profile.
How is the Nefertiti Lift different from standard anti-wrinkle injections?
Standard anti-wrinkle treatment targets the upper face — forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. The Nefertiti Lift is an advanced technique focused entirely on the lower face and neck, requiring a detailed understanding of the complex muscle anatomy in this region. It is not simply Botox placed in a different location — the injection pattern, depth and technique are entirely different and require specialist knowledge.
What does the treatment involve?
Botox is injected at precise points along the jawline and into the vertical platysmal bands of the neck. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, is well-tolerated with minimal discomfort, and requires no downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately after leaving the clinic.
Am I suitable for a Nefertiti Lift?
Ideal candidates have mild to moderate jawline laxity, visible neck bands or cords, early jowling where muscle pull is the primary driver, horizontal tech neck lines, chin dimpling, or downturned corners of the mouth. Good underlying skin elasticity improves results. Those in their 30s and 40s often see excellent outcomes, and the treatment can also work well as a preventive measure before significant laxity develops. Your suitability will be fully assessed at consultation.
Will it help my jowls?
It depends on what is causing your jowls. If jowling is primarily driven by overactive platysma muscle pulling the lower face downward, the Nefertiti Lift can make a significant difference. However, if jowling is caused by descending fat pads or significant volume loss, the Nefertiti Lift may help to some degree but will not fully resolve the appearance alone. In these cases, combining the Nefertiti Lift with a treatment such as Sculptra or dermal filler to restore structure and address volume loss gives far better results. This will be discussed at your consultation.
Will it get rid of loose or crepey skin on my neck?
No — and it's important to be honest about this. The Nefertiti Lift works at the muscle layer. It will not tighten loose or crepey skin, improve skin texture, or address skin laxity. The neck has multiple layers of anatomy and in moderate to advanced ageing, muscle, fat and skin all contribute to what you see. For clients with skin laxity alongside muscle concerns, combining the Nefertiti Lift with collagen-stimulating treatments such as Profhilo, Sculptra, polynucleotides or Micro-Tox can significantly enhance your results. Your practitioner will assess all contributing factors and recommend a realistic, layered approach.
How soon will I see results?
Results begin to show within a few days. Full results are visible at 21 days — the same timeline as standard Botox treatments.
How long do results last? Results typically last 3–6 months depending on individual muscle strength, activity and metabolism. Maintenance treatments 3–4 times yearly are recommended to sustain results long term. Some clients find that with regular treatment, results begin to last longer as the muscle gradually reduces in bulk.
How long does the treatment take?
Approximately 15 minutes.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to normal activities immediately. For 24 hours after treatment you should avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, lying flat, and massaging or touching the treated area.
Is the procedure painful?
Discomfort is minimal. Very fine needles are used and the treatment is well tolerated by the vast majority of clients. Any mild tenderness at injection sites settles quickly.
Can I combine the Nefertiti Lift with other treatments?
Yes — and in many cases combination treatment gives the best results. The Nefertiti Lift works particularly well alongside Micro-Tox for skin texture and pore refinement in the neck, Profhilo or polynucleotides for skin hydration and collagen stimulation, Sculptra or dermal filler where volume loss or fat pad descent is contributing to jowling, and standard anti-wrinkle treatment in the upper face for overall facial harmony. Your practitioner will discuss which combination approach is right for your anatomy and goals.
What are the risks?
The Nefertiti Lift is very safe when performed by a skilled medical professional. Possible side effects include temporary redness, mild swelling, pinprick bruising and tenderness at injection sites — all of which resolve quickly. Rare risks include temporary asymmetry or, very rarely, temporary weakness in nearby muscles. All risks will be discussed fully at your consultation and a full medical history will be taken before any treatment proceeds.
Who is not suitable?
You cannot have the Nefertiti Lift if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, taking certain antibiotics or anticoagulants, or have certain neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert syndrome. A full medical history is taken at every consultation.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. As Botox is a prescription-only medicine, new clients must attend a face-to-face consultation at least 48 hours before their first treatment. This is a legal requirement from 1st June 2025 and ensures your suitability and safety.
Where is the treatment performed?
