Classic Profhilo

The original and most widely used treatment in the Profhilo range. Classic Profhilo targets the dermis — the layer responsible for skin quality, texture, hydration and firmness. Using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) injection technique, 10 precise points on the face are treated per session (5 per side), allowing the product to spread evenly and deeply through the skin.

Where classic Profhilo works on the skin itself, Structura works deeper — targeting the superficial fat pads that give the face its lift, contour and youthful shape. Who May Not Be Suitable
Profhilo may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area, have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid, have blood disorders or are immunocompromised, or have active autoimmune conditions — your practitioner will assess this at consultation.
You cannot have Profhilo if you are under the age of 18, pregnant, and / or breast feeding.

HOW DOES PROFHILO WORK?
Profhilo's mechanism is unique to any other injectable on the market. It uses IBSA's patented NAHYCO Hybrid Technology — a thermal bonding process that combines high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid without chemical cross-linking agents. This means:
It has an exceptionally high purity — no BDDE or chemical stabilisers
It spreads extensively through the skin after injection rather than staying localised
The low molecular weight HA provides immediate, deep hydration
The high molecular weight HA stimulates fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin
Together they trigger bio-remodelling — a genuine regenerative process within the skin
After injection, Profhilo remains active in the tissue for approximately 28 days before being naturally absorbed. During this period it stimulates significant collagen and elastin synthesis — and it is this newly produced collagen that delivers the visible improvement in skin quality, firmness and texture.
The process happens progressively — results build over weeks, are typically visible 2–4 weeks after the first session, and reach their full effect approximately 4 weeks after the second session.

Your Treatment Plan
For classic Profhilo, the recommended initial course is 2 sessions, spaced one month apart — in line with IBSA's clinical guidelines. Maintenance sessions are then recommended every 6 months to sustain results.
For Profhilo Structura, the recommended course is also 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 4–6 months.
For Profhilo Body, your practitioner will advise on the appropriate number of sessions based on the area and degree of laxity being treated.
The Treatment
Classic Profhilo is administered using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) injection technique — 5 precise injection points on each side of the face, totalling 10 points. The technique is designed to maximise distribution and comfort whilst minimising injection points. Sessions take approximately 20–30 minutes. Profhilo Structura is administered via cannula for precise placement into the fat pad layer — typically one entry point per side of the face.
After Your Treatment
You may experience small bumps at injection sites immediately after classic Profhilo — these are normal and settle within a few hours as the product distributes through the skin. Mild redness and sensitivity may persist for up to 24 hours. Profhilo Structura may cause mild swelling or firmness for 24–48 hours as the product integrates.
Aftercare Guidelines

Does Profhilo hurt?

Is there downtime after Profhilo?
There is minimal downtime. Small bumps at injection sites resolve within hours. You may experience mild redness for up to 24 hours. Most clients return to normal activities — including work — immediately after treatment.
When will I see Profhilo results?

Is Profhilo suitable for younger skin?

Can Profhilo be combined with other treatments?

Can I have Profhilo if I've had filler before?

Is Profhilo suitable if I've lost weight on Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro?
Yes — and this is one of the most common reasons clients come to us for Profhilo Structura specifically. Rapid weight loss from GLP-1 medications often causes significant facial volume loss — a phenomenon widely discussed as "Ozempic face." Profhilo Structura is clinically designed to restore the fat pad volume lost through rapid weight loss, and Profhilo classic addresses the skin quality changes that accompany it.
How does Profhilo compare to Juvelook?
Both are biostimulators that use hyaluronic acid to improve skin quality. Profhilo uses IBSA's patented NAHYCO technology and is the more established treatment globally. Juvelook is a newer Korean product that combines HA with PDLLA microspheres for dual-action hydration and collagen stimulation. Profhilo targets skin quality and mild structural support. Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator that specifically targets volume restoration and structural framework. How does Profhilo compare to Sunekos?
Both Profhilo and Sunekos are injectable skin quality treatments, but they work differently. Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid with a patented amino acid complex to stimulate the extracellular matrix and regenerate elastin and collagen. NCTF (New Cellular Treatment Factor) by Fillmed is a polynucleotide and hyaluronic acid-based skin booster containing over 50 active ingredients including vitamins, amino acids, minerals, coenzymes and nucleic acids. It works by nourishing skin cells directly with the building blocks they need to function optimally. Profhilo works differently — rather than supplementing the skin with nutrients, it stimulates the skin's own fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin through bio-remodelling. NCTF is excellent for skin nutrition and brightness. Profhilo delivers deeper structural bio-remodelling. Is Profhilo available on the NHS?

Is Profhilo safe?
Profhilo has an outstanding safety profile. Millions of treatments have been carried out worldwide with no serious adverse effects reported in clinical studies.
