How Does It Work?
Allergic rhinitis is triggered when allergens such as pollen activate an IgE-mediated immune response in the nasal mucosa — stimulating mast cells and basophils to release inflammatory mediators that cause all the classic hay fever symptoms. Botulinum toxin type A works through four distinct mechanisms to interrupt this process:
It suppresses acetylcholine release from nerve endings in the nasal mucosa. What Does the Clinical Evidence Say?
