WHAT IS ALLUZIENCE?
Alluzience is an advanced botulinum toxin type A developed by Ipsen and exclusively licensed to Galderma — the world's largest independent dermatology company — for use across Europe. It is the first and only ready-to-use liquid neuromodulator approved in Europe, and it holds a unique distinction: it is the only botulinum toxin formulation for which regulatory authorities have formally written a six-month duration of effect into its Summary of Product Characteristics.
That is not a marketing claim. It is a clinically evidenced, regulatory confirmed fact.
Alluzience is also free from human and animal-derived proteins — no human serum albumin, no lactose — which makes it a cleaner formulation than many alternatives.
HOW IS ALLUZIENCE DIFFERENT THAN STANDARD BOTOX?
How Is Alluzience Different From Standard Botox?
The core mechanism is the same — botulinum toxin type A relaxes the targeted muscle by blocking the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, smoothing the overlying skin and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. What sets Alluzience apart is speed and duration.
Most botulinum toxin formulations take seven to fourteen days to show visible results. Alluzience begins to take effect within 24 hours of injection, with many patients noticing a difference within the first day or two. And while standard formulations typically last three to four months before results fade and retreatment is needed, clinical data demonstrated that patients treated with Alluzience had improvements lasting up to six months.
Alluzience is the sole commercialised botulinum toxin for which authorities have granted a six-month duration effect into the Summary of Product Characteristics — making it genuinely unique in the market, not just in its marketing.
In clinical trials, 85.2% of patients receiving Alluzience reported being satisfied or very satisfied at one month following injection. Results from the open-label STAR Phase IV study confirmed high patient satisfaction was maintained throughout the full six months.
In our clinic, we see around 80% of our patients enjoying the 6 months of effect - in around 20% of patients, they do not feel it lasting the full 6 months, and choose to switch back to a more standard botox formulation such as Azzalure. We will always be open and transparant about what not only the manufacturers and studies say, but also what we see in the 'real world' (not just marketing).

In cases where we do not think Alluzience will be right for you specifically, we will advise of this during your consultation.
Alluzience is a prescription-only medicine. A consultation is required at least 48 hours before your first treatment — a legal requirement since 1 June 2025 — which we carry out as part of our standard process.
Alluzience is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those with neuromuscular conditions, or for those with known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin.
TREATMENT, RESULTS, & AFTERCARE
Treatment takes approximately 10 minutes.
Results begin within 24 hours and continue to develop over the first week.
Full results are visible at three weeks, at which point we offer a complimentary review.
Longevity varies between individuals but is clinically evidenced at up to six months, with many patients achieving maintenance on just two treatments per year rather than three or four.
Aftercare is the same as standard anti-wrinkle injections — avoid exercise, alcohol and lying flat for four hours, avoid heat and saunas for 24 hours, and do not massage the treated area.
