Pollution Shield is Dr LEVY Switzerland's skincare finisher: the final step of your routine, designed to help defend skin against everyday environmental stress. The brand describes it as a full-spectrum anti-pollution layer that helps guard against urban dust, indoor chemicals, atmospheric gases, infrared and blue light, while supporting the skin barrier.

The formula pairs niacinamide, vitamins C and E and co-enzyme Q10 with probiotics, provitamin B5, white lupin oil, madecassoside and a moringa seed biosaccharide that forms a light, invisible film. Dr LEVY reports that in its own testing skin showed up to 24% less oxidation from pollutant exposure within hours, up to 30% stronger moisture defences and up to 42% better barrier integrity within days.

It suits all skin types, particularly city dwellers, commuters and anyone who spends long hours in front of screens. It is lightweight enough to wear under make-up.

Use in the morning as the last skincare step, once your serum and moisturiser have fully absorbed. Apply one large pearl over the whole face and around the eyes, including the eyelids, adding an extra drop for the neck and décolletage. Smooth in until fully blended. It does not contain SPF, so apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day as well.

Dr LEVY Switzerland says that anyone with sensitive (but not hyper-sensitive) skin should start its products slowly, following the brand's phased approach, rather than introducing everything at full frequency at once. The brand notes that, because its formulas are highly active, skin can look slightly pink at the start; it says this is rare and usually settles within three to five days.
Suitable for all skin types, including dehydrated or dull-looking skin and skin exposed to city pollution, air conditioning or long hours at a screen. Dr LEVY says it is dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested and can be used around the eyes.

Dr LEVY does not recommend its products for anyone with rosacea, recent or active eczema, recent or open wounds, or hyper-sensitive skin. The brand advises anyone who is pregnant to check with their doctor before use.
