Blemish Targeting is the smallest and most straightforward of Obagi's festive kits, and the easiest to recommend: two full-size products, two steps, aimed squarely at congested, blemish-prone skin that still needs hydrating.

CLENZIderm M.D. Pore Therapy (full size, 148ml) is a 2% salicylic acid exfoliating BHA toner. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which is why it gets inside the pore rather than working only on the surface. In Obagi's 2024 testing, 87% agreed it provided gentle exfoliation after 14 days and 80% agreed it removed excess oil without drying the skin after 28 days.* Hydrate Light Weightless Gel Cream (full size, 48g) is the counterweight - an oil-free, non-comedogenic gel cream with tara seed extract, polyglutamic acid and ceramides, clinically shown to hydrate for 24 hours.

The pairing is the point. Most people with congested skin over-strip it, then find it gets oilier and more reactive in response. Exfoliating properly and hydrating properly at the same time is what breaks that cycle.

This kit treats congestion and the look of pores. It is not a treatment for moderate or severe acne, and we would not suggest it as one. Morning and evening, or once daily to start. Cleanse and pat the skin dry. Shake the Pore Therapy well, pump two or three times onto a cotton pad and sweep over the face, avoiding the eyes and lips. Let it air dry completely - do not rinse. Follow with a small amount of Hydrate Light across the face and neck. In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above.

Start with one application of the Pore Therapy a day and build to twice if your skin tolerates it. If dryness or peeling becomes excessive, drop back to once daily or every other day.
Salicylic acid 2% (Pore Therapy): an oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates inside the pore rather than only on the surface. Menthol (Pore Therapy): provides the cooling sensation on application. Chamomile flower extract and bisabolol (Pore Therapy): soothing agents that offset the acid. Tara seed extract (Hydrate Light): forms a matrix that holds moisture and limits water loss. Polyglutamic acid and glycerin (Hydrate Light): humectants that draw water into the skin. Ceramides (Hydrate Light): support the moisture barrier. Niacinamide and wine ferment (Hydrate Light): antioxidant support and help balancing the look of oily skin.
This is the fastest-acting of the four festive kits. Obagi's testing reported 87% agreeing on gentle exfoliation at 14 days and 80% noticing blemish marks appearing reduced at 14 days, with smoother skin and oil control reported at 28 days. In practice, expect skin to feel cleaner and less congested within the first fortnight, with pore appearance and texture improving over four to eight weeks. A cooling tingle on application is normal - that is the menthol. Some initial dryness as the acid gets to work is also normal, which is exactly what the Hydrate Light is there for. If you are peeling or stinging, you are using the toner too often. Results vary between individuals.
