About this treatment

If you're dealing with acne, acne scarring, or the marks left behind, this is the right place to start. Most people arrive having already tried a lot of things. Some are being treated for the wrong problem entirely — the majority of people who book "acne scarring" treatment actually have post-inflammatory marks, which fade on their own and need something completely different. Establishing which you have is the first thing we do, and it changes everything that follows. What the consultation covers A full assessment of your skin, in person, in clinic. We'll establish whether you have active acne, post-inflammatory marks, true scarring, or a combination — and if it's scarring, which type, because rolling, boxcar and icepick scars respond to entirely different treatments. We'll go through everything you've already tried and what happened, review your current skincare in detail, and be honest about anything that's making things worse. You'll receive a plan: what to use at home, what to have in clinic, roughly what it will cost and roughly how long it will take. Where prescription skincare is appropriate, we'll discuss it. We may tell you to see your GP If your acne is severe — deep painful cysts or nodules, or acne that's already scarring — you need oral treatment and a dermatology referral. We'll say so plainly rather than treating you around it. We can't prescribe isotretinoin and no aesthetic clinic can. Please note This consultation is charged at £50 and is not redeemable against treatments or products. Unlike our other consultations, the assessment and the plan are the substance of this appointment — you get the value whether or not you book anything afterwards, and many people leave with home care advice alone. Please come with a clean face and no makeup where possible, and bring the products you're currently using, or photographs of them. You must be 18 or over.
