WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is a non-invasive yet extremely effective rejuvenation treatment, which harnesses your skin’s own natural ability to repair itself. WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling, otherwise known as collagen induction therapy, electric derma stamp, and Dermapen, is a clinically proven form of medical skin therapy that uses tiny needles at a controlled depth and rate to rejuvenate and remodel the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, with visible results after only one treatment. It is an extremely effective treatment, harnessing the power of your skin's own natural ability to heal itself, and is an excellent compliment to all other skin treatments we offer, such as Sunekos, amongst other collagen stimulating injectables such as Polynucletides. Microneedling is administered as part of most of our Vampire Facials (aka, PRP treatments), and also some of our Million Dollar Facial treatments. Microneedling also conveys active ingredients into the skin, and we routinely offer a bespoke combination of serums for you during the treatment which include hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, and / or brightening agents. HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF MICRONEEDLING LAST?
Microneedling gives instant, long-lasting results. Several sessions may be required at the start of your treatment plan, depending on your skin, skin concerns, and skin conditions. We then advise a single microneedling session every 4-6 weeks to maintain skins overall improved texture, tone, glow and health.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Depending on the system, amd the area(s) treated, anywhere from 10-20 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
A topical numbing cream may be applied before your microneedling treatment (as long as you do not have any allergies or contraindications to this) if the needle is penetrating deeper than 0.6mm. Depth of penetration depends on the system and skin conditions and concerns. We will advise you of what is best for you in clinic.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
For many clients, just one treatment will give the desired results: for other clients with skin problems such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne or hair loss we may recommend a total of 4-6 initial treatment sessions undertaken weekly for optimum results. Following this, we recommend a single treatment every 4-12 weeks to maintain your beautiful results.
Over time the benefits of the skin-nourishing ingredients will build up, making the results of each subsequent treatment even better than the last!
If you are just looking for that 'one off' added 'glow', for a wedding or a special event, you can have just a single treatment session.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
Microneedling typically has little to no downtime, meaning the moment you leave the clinic your skin will be glowing and luminous. However, sometimes certain skin types may have a little roughness, as the skin goes through the exfoliation and rejuvenation process. This lasts for the maximum of a few days. Depending on the particular microneedling treatment performed, and depth, you may be pink and / or red for a couple of days.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER HAVING WOW FUSION?
Do not touch the injected areas following your treatment. Do not wear make-up for an hour (ideally six hours) following treatment. Avoid steam rooms and saunas for 2 weeks following your treatment. Wear SPF 30 at all times. Keep skin moisturised Never pick or peel you skin if it feels rough, or is flaking.
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
For some people, microneedling may cause your skin to look or feel dry, flaky and or peel. This is simply part of the exfoliation process that will ultimately leave your skin glowing and luminous.
All microneedling devices involve the use of tiny needles, which may occasionally leave very small bruises.
Your skin may feel quite tight which is normal, but we may advise that you use our intense repair complex to speed up the heeling process.
ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR MICRONEEDLING?
You cannot have WOW FUSION with BOTOX if:
- Some types of active acne
- Any haemophilia, bleeding disorder, or are taking blood thinning medications
- Active infection of any type
- Skin cancer
- You have had keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- You have eczema
You have psoriasis
- You have dermatitis
You are pregnant
You are breastfeeding
You are taking certain antibiotics
You have any chronic muscle or nerve conditions, such as Eaton Lambert syndrome, myasthenia gravis, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
You have any sensitivity to any of the product excipients - human albumin or lactose monohydrate
You cannot have MICRONEEDLING if:
- Some types of active acne
- Any haemophilia, bleeding disorder, or are taking blood thinning medications
- Active infection of any type
- Skin cancer
- You have had keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- You have eczema
You have psoriasis
- You have dermatitis
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
WOW FUSION with BOTOX involves the use of prescription only medication, which means you if this is your first visit to us you MUST have a consultation at least 48 hours before your treatment. This can be done either remotely (over the telephone due to current COVID guidance and regulations) or face to face in clinic.This is to ensure product safety and suitability for YOU. Once you have been seen and treated with WOW FUSION with BOTOX at least once, you are able to simply book and be treated without the need for any further, separate consultation.
