Obagi Retinol + PHA Refining Night Cream is an overnight cream that combines slow-release retinol with a gentle exfoliating acid, to refine skin texture and tone while reducing the look of blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles.
The retinol is entrapped in a slow-release system, delivering it gradually into the skin to encourage cell turnover with less of the irritation retinol can cause. Gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), gently exfoliates the surface for smoother, brighter-looking skin, while squalane, shea butter, sodium hyaluronate and vitamin E keep skin comfortable and hydrated.
In Obagi's own eight-week clinical test, users saw a visible improvement in skin smoothness of 29% and in skin tone evenness of 10% (data on file, Obagi Cosmeceuticals).
It's a good first retinol for people who have found retinol irritating before, and a gentle option for skin that's prone to blemishes as well as early lines.
