It is important to note that while Profhilo may be effective for some individuals with acne scars, it is not a suitable treatment for everyone and results may vary depending on the severity of the scarring.This treatment is for the improvement of mild acne scarring. It is strongly recommended that Profhilo for Acne Scarring is taken alongside 4-6 sessions of Microneedling for optimum results.

No. Unlike dermal fillers which are instant, you can expect to see results slowly over a period of 4-6 weeks.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
The visible effects of PROFHILO lasts approximately 6 months . A single maintenance is therefore recommended every 6 months.
DO I NEED AN ALLERGY TEST BEFOREHAND?
No allergy testing is needed.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
PROFHILO administration using the BAP technique is very quick, and can be done in your lunch-break! All in all it takes around 15 minutes..
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
No aesthetic treatment should not be 'painful'. PROFHILO is injected in tiny amounts using ultra-fine needles. Nevertheless, we offer complimentary topical anaesthetic cream as standard.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER HAVING PROFHILO?
Avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for 48 hours following your treatment.
ANY RISKS OR SIDE-EFFECTS?
Most common risks and side effects are associated with the injection itself - that is, pinprick redness, pinprick bleeding and pinprick bruising. These side effects tend to resolve within a few days, but can last up to 14 days following treatment.
As with any type of dermal filler, there is an extremely small risk of vascular / arterial occlusion. The chance of this happening is extremely small, and there are only a handful of cases worldwide with millions of treatments. Rest assured that as medical professionals, we are specifically trained in the anatomy of the face to minimise this risk even further.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE IT?
All of our treatments are fully customised to YOU and only carried out following an in-depth discussion, so this is very unlikely!
IS THERE ANYBODY WHO CANNOT HAVE PROFHILO?
You cannot have PROFHILO if:
You are pregnant.
You are breastfeeding.
You are under 18 years of age.
You are currently unwell in any way (cold etc).
If you are currently - or have, in the past 18 months - used Roacutane (an acne treatment).
You have a hypersensitivity to the product or any of its excipients.
You have a known history of keloid scarring or hypertrophic scarring.
You have active skin eruptions at the site of proposed treatment - such as cysts, pimples, rashes or hives.
You have any bleeding disorders.
